Who We Are

Meet the volunteers and staff of the Church of God General Conference

The Church of God is a network of autonomous churches working together as a General Conference under the direction of an elected Board of Directors and an Executive Director.

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors is made up of volunteers who are elected on a rotating basis at an annual summer conference attended by delegates from member churches. They work with the Executive Director and staff to help them fulfill the vision & mission of the organization.

JOE MYERS

Chairperson

Joe and his wife of 52 years, Dana, reside in Gilbert, AZ, and attend the Lakeshore Bible Church in Tempe, AZ. Joe has pastored churches in CO, AR, MI, AZ, and GA for over 20 years. His 20+ years of business experience includes being a national sales manager for a manufacturing company, sales and management in the automotive industry, and mortgage banking. Joe is serving his third, 4-year term as the Chair of the Board of Directors. In his free time, Joe is an avid golfer and works part-time at a large golf store.

J.J. Fletcher

Vice Chair

J.J. was born in Oregon, IL, and grew up attending Happywoods COG in Hammond, LA. J.J. is a third-generation pastor in the Church of God General Conference and graduated from Atlanta Bible College in 2009. He has been pastoring Pine Grove Bible Church (Brooklyn Park, MN) since 2017. J.J. has been married to Hope (Kirkpatrick) since 2008, and they have four children.

SHANE MARTIN

Treasurer

Shane Martin has been a Maple Grove Community Church member in Kokomo, IN, since 2009. He graduated from Indiana University Kokomo in 2013 with a degree in Finance and Economics and is currently the Sr. Commercial Underwriter for Elements Financial out of Indianapolis, IN. He has been married to Laura (Alexander) for over 10 years, and they have three children together: Matthew, Ella, and Holly.

ALAN CAIN

Director

Alan Cain has been the Pastor of the Lawrenceville Church of God in Springfield, OH, since 2004. He has been in pastoral ministry since 1987. He is married to Susan, and they have three adult children together. Two serve as pastors, and his daughter is a pastor’s wife.

TALON PAUL

Director

Originally from East Oregon Chapel in Oregon, IL, Talon Paul has been the Maple Grove Community Church pastor in Kokomo, IN, since 2017. He is married to Rebecca from Lawrenceville, OH, and they have two young boys. In addition, they have been foster parents to multiple children since 2024.

BOB ALCUMBRACK

Director

Bob Alcumbrack was raised in Grand Rapids, MI, and attended the Pennellwood Church of God. In 1982, he graduated from Oregon Bible College (Oregon, IL), after which he served congregations in Oregon and Naperville, IL. As a second career, Bob spent 25 years in manufacturing as a mechanical engineer. During that time, he served as a church officer and youth worker. For 33 years, he has been married to Sherry Partain, and they have four adult children.

JON WELCH

Director

Jon has been a pastor in the Church of God for almost 35 years, and he is a 1985 graduate of Oregon Bible College (now Atlanta Bible College). After his pastoral internship in Fonthill, Ontario, Canada, he served as pastor of the Fort Valley, VA, Church of God in Christ Jesus from 1986-1998. He moved to Missouri in 1998 and served three churches in the 21 years he was there: Church of the Open Bible in Farmington, MO (1998-2004), Church of God, Abrahamic Faith of Fredericktown, MO (2000-2008), and New Beginnings Church of God (2008-2016). In 2016, Jon and his wife, René, moved to Virginia and served at the Grace Fellowship Church of God in Front Royal, VA. They now reside in Michigan.

Our office staff strives to partner with our churches and ministries by providing services to help them fulfill their work of spreading truth of the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ.

SETH ROSS

Executive Director and President of Atlanta Bible College

Seth Ross has been the Executive Director of the Church of God General Conference since 2017. He has Bachelor’s degrees in Theology and Education and a Master’s of Organizational Leadership. He works with the leaders of the Church of God’s ministry departments to serve our churches. He also partners with our staff and congregations to spread truth concerning the Kingdom of God in Jesus Christ.

DAVID KROGH

Church Services and Special Projects

David Krogh works on special projects that assist churches and pastors and Lord’s Harvest International in its ministry. He also teaches at Atlanta Bible College. He has a Bachelor of Theology and a Master’s of Business Administration degree. He served as a full-time pastor before beginning his work with the college/conference in 1972. While working at the conference, he served as interim pastor for two churches.

DENISE CRAMER

Financial Director

Denise Cramer joined the staff of the Church of God General Conference in 2013 and serves as the Financial Director. She oversees the conference’s business office and provides financial reporting and accountability to constituents, delegates, board members, and fellow staff.

MELINDA CISLER

Business Office Manager and Office Administrator

Melinda Cisler is the Business Office Manager and Office Administrator of the Church of God General Conference and Atlanta Bible College. Her primary responsibilities include financial and administrative tasks both in the office as well as at General Conference events, overseeing support staff, and maintaining database health. She earned an Associate Degree from Atlanta Bible College and has been serving in church ministry for over thirty years.

MICHAEL CISLER

Academic Dean

Michael Cisler is the Academic Dean of Atlanta Bible College. He oversees the college’s administrative functions and supports churches and pastors. He has a Bachelor of Theology and a Masters of Organizational Leadership. Before working for the Church of God General Conference, Michael spent 24 years in pastoral ministry, serving churches in Ontario and Michigan.

BOB JONES

Proofreader and Professor

Bob Jones has a master’s degree in Old Testament Studies from Wheaton College. In addition to his teaching responsibilities for Atlanta Bible College, Bob is responsible for proofreading for the publishing department of the General Conference.
